Whether you prefer it sweet or savory you can’t go wrong with a festive sweet potato kugel for this Thanksgiving! Sweet Potato Kugel What You Need 3½ lbs sweet potatoes (roughly 4 large sweet potatoes) 2 large onions, diced 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil ½ cup scallions, minced 5 eggs ½ cup matzah meal (or flour if not during Passover) ¼ cup butter or margarine, melted and cooled 2 teaspoons salt ½ teaspoon pepper What You Do Preheat oven to 400°. There’s no better Thanksgiving than a Jewish Thanksgiving! If we Jews know one thing… it’s food! Try our Pumpkin Spice Challah this year! Pumpkin Spice Challah What You Need 1 package active dry yeast (2¼ teaspoons) ½ cup warm water ½ cup granulated sugar plus 1 teaspoon 1 cup pumpkin puree ¼ cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1½ teaspoons salt 1 egg + 1 egg yolk for the dough, whisked and 1 egg yolk for the glaze 4 cups white bread flour Pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, for garnish What You Do Put yeast in mixer and whisk with warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar.
